  • Napolean getting the printing press to Egypt

Napolean getting the printing press to Egypt
In 1798, Napolean invaded Egypt and he got the printing press with him and many scholars and scientists. This effected me because if he did not get it, my world would have been really behind. Also, Mohammad Ali the Albanian supported this and he builds school in Egypt and he simply supports education. The Ottomans in their early years did not accept the printing press and they weren't open to education. If Mohammad Ali did not accept this, my world would've been really behind.
  • The McMahon–Hussein Correspondence Letters

    The McMahon–Hussein Correspondence Letters
McMahon and Sherif Hussein exchanged letters regarding the Arab lands. McMahon promised Hussein Arab lands and they wrote a map. Ironically, Hussein did not notice that the British did not really promise them anything and they tricked them. Britains were taking advantage of how naiive Arabs are. Hussein's main goal was to gain independence from the Ottoman Empire and this effected my because I strongly believe if the Ottoman Empire did not fall apart then we would've been still a strong country
  • Balfour Declaration

    Balfour Declaration
Balfour Declaration was a letter from the United Kingdom's secretary Arthur James Balfour to Baron Rothschild. This declaration implies that the British should have Palestine as a homeland. This is an effective declaration because at the time Palestine was under the British Mandate and it had a big effect on us, Arabs because Jews took Arthur's words. Even though Arthur said "national home" instead of a Jewish state, Jews took advantage of that document and took it as an excuse to take Palestine
  • Arab Nationalism

    Arab Nationalism
Nationalism is the need of people who share the same language, background, culture, and traditions to unite. Arab Nationalism started with Jamal Abdel Nasser who is the talented leader who united Arabs. This sense of unity effected Arabs as a whole because they felt like a large family and they all wanted to help each other. This created a more advanced Arab nation, which effected all of us today.
  • The Holocaust

    The Holocaust
The Holocaust began in 1933 when Hitler came into power. Hitler is German and he strongly disliked the Jews for various reasons. As we learned before, Jews were disliked in Europe and Hitler was one of those who disliked them. He disliked them because he is saying that they were the reason Germany lost World War 1. It is also said that he was rejected by an Art university by a Jewish officer. This event had a big effect on me because the Jews used it as an excuse to come back to Palestine.
  • Jordan Indepence Day

    Jordan Indepence Day
Jordan became independent from the British Mandate under the King Hussein ruling time. He fought the Britains and if he did not, Jordan would still be under the mandate. King Hussein was really passionate and he fought so hard to become independent. If he did not have the passion, my life would've been really different. I wouldn't have been living in Jordan and we would've been speaking English now, and not Arabic. We would've been living the same way English people live now.
  • Nakba 1948

    Nakba 1948
The Nakba of 1948 was a date which changed the Arab World. After the British forces left Palestine, Israel decided to become its own state. This date effected my life dramatically because after that event, Israel began buidling its military forces and began exploiting the Palestinians. From the many Palestinians exploited, my grandparents were one of the families that left Palestine and imigrated to Jordan. If my grandparents still lived in Palestine, my life would've been really different.
  • Nationalizing the Suez Canal

    Nationalizing the Suez Canal
The Suez Canal is one of the most important Canals in our world. Seventy percent of the world's transportation happened there at the time. Before Jamal Abdel-Nasser decides to nationalize it, it was owned by the British and France. Jamal decided to nationalize it and he fought the foreigners. He returned the Arab pride and he made our reputation much cleaner. He proved to the world that Arabs are strong and no army can change that. Jamal was very talented and loved by all people.
  • King Faisal of Saudi

    King Faisal of Saudi
King Faisal is one of the Kings in Saudi Arabia. He is such a talented and brave King. He was considered a here to all Arabs because he stood against the West and he wasn't scared. He was with Pan-Islamism, he was against communism. He is an interesting guy, very strong to an extent that he stood against the west. He was a very strong ruler. He didn't really effect my life, but he showed the West that the Arabs are strong and that we still have a say. He stopped giving the U.S oil.
  • Anwar Sadat, Peace Treaty with Isreal

Anwar Sadat, Peace Treaty with Isreal
Anwar Sadat is the second president of Egypt and he is the one who signed a peace treaty with Israel. This had a very big effect on us today because if he did not sign it, the world today would've been in a fight with Israel. Israel would've taken all our lands. When he signed this peace treaty, he motivated all Arabs to do so. Even though he was considered a betrayer at the time, this peace treaty effected the Arab World as a whole.
