Boo and Mr. Radley
Dill, Scout and Jem see Mr. Radley walking down th sidewalk. Jem starts explaining who Mr. Radley and Boo Radley is to Scout and Dill. Jems tells them that Mr. Radley is the meanest man and keeps Boo chained to a bed. Explains that Boo Radley is a six and a half foot tall man who eats raw squirrels and cats. Stephanie comes out and explains that Boo is a dangerous man who should be in an asylum because he stabbed his dad with a pair of scissors. -
Meet Dill
At this point, Dill is introduced in the book. He's spending two weeks with his aunt Stephanie next door to Atticus. Dill introduces himself to Scout and Jem as Charles Baker Harris. He explains who he is and where he's from to Jem. We find out that Dill is funny, sarcastic and curious. -
Courthouse and Ewell
Atticus is defending Tom Robinson in a trial that day. A man named Robert E. Lee Ewell approaches Atticus and blocks his way. Ewell explains that Tom Robinson had raped Mayella and he should appear as guity. Ewell tells Atticus that he shouldn't be defending Tom because he is a black man and he should stay with his own skin colour. -
Jem's Pants
Scout, Jem and Dill are curious the see into Boo's room so they sneak over to the Robinson house. They go under the gate in the garden to the back deck. When they go to open the gate it starts to squeak so they spit on it. Jem's pants end up getting caught on a fence so he takes them off. They run over to the back window and see a shad moving. Afte they run off the deck. Stephanie calls out Dil and goes home. Jem goes back for his pants and sees them folded up on top of the fence. -
Scout's Fight
Scout and Jem go to school and Scout gets into a fight with Walter Cunningham's son. Jem sees Scout and breaks up the fight. Jem invites Walter over for dinner that night. Walter ends up puring syrup all over his food and Scout makes fun of him for that. Calpurnia asks to speak to Scout and Cal tells her to be nice to her guest. -
Atticus' Shot
Scout and Jem see a dog own the street. The dog is barking and running weirdly. Cal hurries them inside and calls Atticus to come home. Atticus and Tate come home with a gun ready to shoot the dog. Tate says that he can't shoot and passes the u=gun over to Atticus. Atticus shoots the dog and its a perfect shot. Scout and Jem are surprised at how good he was. Tate says he's the best shot in town. -
Scout's Second Fight
Scout gets into another fight at school because Cecil Jacobs says that Atticus loves Negroes. Atticus tells her that he's simply defending Tom Robinson in the trial. -
Atticus' Office
Atticus is sitting infront of his office where Tom Robinson is sitting in side. Walter Cunningham drives up with some of the people who want Tom dead. Scout, Jem and Dill come up and Atticus tells Jem to leave and he refuses. Scout reminds Walter that he has a family at home and he shoulddn't be doing this. He tells his boys to go home. -
Tom Robinson's Trial
Today was the day of Tom's trial. Ewell and Mayella were lying bout what happened because Mayella forced herself on a black man and they didn't want anybody to find out. Tom Robinson told the truth and he was found guilty. He tried to run away because he was scared and didn't want to go to jail and they shot him. -
Tom Robinson's House
Atticus and Jem go to Tom Robinson's house and sees everybody there. Spence, Tom's father, comes forward and asks how long the appeal will take and Atticus tells Spence that Tom is dead. Helen comes when she hears the news and she faints. Everybody brings her inside. Ewell comes and asks for Atticus and he spits in his face. -
Scout's Pageant
This night, Jem took Scout to her pageant. Scout went to the pageant dressed like a ham. As they were walking home, Jem heard someone following them. When they stooped, the person following them would stop. -
Ewell x Boo
Soon enough Jem was pulled into a fight. The person who was fighting him tried to hurt him and ended up knocking him out cold. The person tried to go for Scout next but was caught off gaurd by someone else attacking him. Scout was pushed a side and started hiding in her costume. Ewell was thrown to the ground with a knife in him. Boo took Jem and carried him home. -
Boo Radley, A Hero
Tate asks Scout what happened and she said that someone had attacked Jem and saw someone carrying Jem to the house. She looks in the corner of the room and stands Boo Radley. She says that he carried Jem home. Atticus thinks that Jem might have stabbed Ewel but Tate thinks it was Boo protecting the kids. They all go outside and Atticus thanks Boo for saving Jem and Scout. -
Ewell Found Dead
Scout runs home and falls into Atticus' arms. She tells him what happened in the woods and atticus calls Sherrif Tate that his kids have been attacked. tate comes and says he found Ewell dead with a knife in him.
