Dill, Jem, and Scout almost get shot because they are trying to get Boo Radley to come out of his house. Boo's brother hears them and tries to shoot them as they run away.

Aunt Alexandra moves in to help Atticus raise Jem and Scout because their mother died when they were little and it is getting hard for Atticus.

Jem and Scout had to go and read to Mrs.Dubose because Jem cut all of her flower heads off because she made fun of Jem and Scout.

Atticus defends Tom Robinson in court because Mr. Ewell says that Tom beat up his daughter. Tom's case doesn't go very well but it lasts all day so they tried their hardest to get him released.

Tom Robinson was shot at the prison camp he was at after he tried to run away. After they tried to get him off the fence and he resisted they shot him, he would have gotten away if he had two good arms.

Jem and Scout get beat up pretty bad by Mr.Ewell on their way home from the halloween pageant so bad Jem's arm is broken and bending the wrong way.
