    Left behind by Jem and Dill, Scout decides to visit Miss Maudie Atkinson, the lady down the street who spends her time outdoors and loves her yard.Scout learns that Boo Radley is still alive and that his real name is Arthur Radley.

    Scout discovers Jem and Dill talking in the backyard. She finds out that Jem and Dill are planning to go over to the Radley's to deliver a note to Boo Radley. Their plan involves them placing the note on a fishing pole and sticking it in Boo's window.

    As they walked up to the house, Dill stayed at the light post while Jem and Scout continued to walk. Scout was positioned at a spot where she could still see the curve of the street. As Scout and Dill stayed out for look out, Jem stuck the fishing pole with the note through the fence to the selected window.

    Atticus finds out that Jem, Dill, and Scout have been tormenting Boo and making fun of him. For example, acting out Boo's incident with the scissors and trying to get Boo out of his house.
