Walter comes to dinner where he piles his food on his plate and pours syrup all over his meat and vegetables but Scout complains when he poured his syrup all over and Calpurnia gets mad at Scout -
Scout fights Walter
Scout starts beating up Walter because they started off on the wrong foot when Walter kept getting Scout into trouble by Mrs. Caroline. Jem breaks it up and invites Walter to dinner at his house. -
Burris Ewell disrespects Mrs. Caroline
Mrs. Caroline calls a Ewell in her roll book and Burris Ewell replies to Mrs. Caroline with a bad attitude and Burris starts disrespecting Mrs. Caroline and calls her names until Mrs. Caroline starts to cry. The rest of the class begins to comfort her so that she can feel better. -
Scout doesn't want to go to school
Scout seems unhappy and Atticus asks Scout what was wrong and Scout tells him she doesn't want to go to school and that Atticus can teach her but Atticus tells her he can't do that and that they would throw him in jail if she doesn't go to school.
