When Jem and Scout first met Miss Rachel's nephew Dill, a freindship of the ages was started. After Jem and Scout told Dill about the Radley's a spark was laid and the games began. The friendship between the three was huge. -
Searching for Boo Radley
The three friends decide to go have a peek at the Radley house through a loose shutter. Jem is on the porch when he see's a shadow. The three friends run away and are shot at. Jem gets stuck in the fence and has to leave his overalls behind. Jem then returns later tha night to retrieve his pants and finds them sewn and folded on the fence. -
Going to School for the first time
On the first day of school Scout's teacher does not like that she can read or wirte. Later that day Scout tries to tell her teacher about the Cunningham's and how they are but the teacher does not understand. The teacher ends up being mean to Scout so when Scout gets home she begs Atticus to not have to go back. -
The Case Begins
Atticus is asked to defend Tom Robinson who is a black male accused of raping a ninteen year old white female, Mayella Ewell. The word gets around town and school that Atticus is a black lover. A kid teases Scout and she almost fights him. Atticus later explains that Scout can't let other kids' words affect her that much. -
The Landing
Atticus, Uncle Jack, Jem, and Scout visit the Landing for Christmas. Scout's cousin Francis says Atticus is a black lover and Scout almost beats him up. Uncle Jack and the adults come out and start yelling at Scout. Atticus is just upset that she got into a fight because of what Francis said. -
One-Shot
Scout and Jem see a mad dog one day and run inside to tell Cal. Calpurnia calls everyone in the neighborhood to tell them, and then calls Atticus and the sheriff to come kill it. When Atticus and Sheriff Heck Tate arrive the sheriff gives his rifle to Atticus to kill the dog. To the children's suprise Atticus takes one shot to kill the dog Miss Maudie then goes on to tell Jem and Scout that Atticus is the deadest shot in Maycomb county. -
Aunt Alexandra Arrives
Scout and Jem go with Calpurnia to her church. When they all return Aunt Alexandra is sitting on the porch waiting for them. She tells them that she will be staying with them because Scout needs a female's presence in the house. She will stay with them until after the trial is over. -
The Trial has Begun
Scout, Jem, and Dill sit up in the colored Balcony for the trial. They all listen intenly as Atticus and Mr. Gilmer examine and cross examine each man's witnesses and gives his closing statment. Calpurnia comes in saying that Aunt Alexandra was looking all day for the children and that they weren't anywhere to be found. They were found in the balcony and then went home to eat. They were allowed to return for the verdict. In the end the jury found Tom Robinson guilty of raping Mayella Ewell. -
Bob Ewell and his threats
Bob Ewell finds Atticus coming out of the Post Office and begins to threaten Atticus and his loved ones. Mr. Ewell tries to get Atticus to hit him and when Atticus won't Ewell spits in Atticus's face. Miss Stephanie Crawford see's the exchange and runs to tell her neighbors and the Finch children. -
Halloween Night
Scout is a ham in the Halloween pagent.She falls asleep and is to embaressed to leave with everyone else. When Jem and Scout leave Scout forgets her shoes and dress but the school is locked. The two walk home in the dark and hear footseps following them. As they reach the Radley house they are attacked by Bob Ewell. Scout is saved only by the wire inside her costume but Jem is hurt very badly. Boo Radley stabs Bob Ewell and saves the two children.
