    Scout and Jem found items in the knot hole of the Radley's tree
    jem and scout walk past a tree on the radley lot with a hole in it and they find items inside of the hole. They find wax figures of themselves, gum, and even a watch. This is when they realize that Boo may not be so bad of a person as he is made out to be.

    Atticus shot Tim Johnson's dog
    Sheriff heck tate had atticus shoot the dog because atticus had a better shot than him. Atticus revealed to Jem and Scout that he had the deadest shot in maybomb county. This really shows a different side to atticus that the kids never knew about.

    Cal takes Jem and Scout to church
    Since Atticus is out of the house, calpurnia decides to take Jem and Scout to her church. At the church Cal starts talking and acting differently around all of the black folks. Jem and Scout are very confused as to why cal is acting less educated than she really is. finally Scout and Jem learn that Cal just doesnt want to make the other churh goers jealous of how educated she is.

    Jem was really starting to get irritated by everything people were saying about his father. In the heat of the moment Jem cut all of Mrs. Dubose's flowers because she was saying mean stuff about Atticus. Mrs. Dubose made Jem read to her to make up for what he did, when he read to her he started to realize what condition she was really in.

    Tom Robinsons trial took place
    Atticus defended Tom Robinson is the case of Tom being accused of raping Mayella Ewell. Everyone in the court room knew that Bob and Mayella Ewell were lying and Tom was telling the truth. The only problem was that Tom was black and the Ewells were white, the court room was not fair, these people are racist, so Tom's chances are very low.

    Dill drank Mr. Raymonds "whiskey"
    Scout had to take dill out of the courtroom because he was crying about how horrible people can be. While outside mr raymond came up to them and let Dill take a drink of what the entire county thought to be whiskey, but really, it was coca cola. Mr raymond wanted people to think it was alcohol, becuase then that gave people an explanation as to why mr raymond married a black women, he was just drunk. This shows how racist the community really was.

    After a long wait for the jury to decide the verdict, people were anxious. The verdict was guilty. Tom was accused of a crime he didnt do, simply because he was black. The community did not want Tom to be innocent for the fear that their community would change and that blacks would have a higher social standing.

    Tom Robinson got shot 17 times trying to escape from jail
    Though Atticus thought that Tom still had a chance to win the case, Tom did not believe him. Tom was put into jail right after court, and being as hopeless as he was, tried to escape and ended up being shot to death. Nobody really knows if the guards knew who they were shooting at, but if they did, its not surprising that they did is purposefully hoping that he would die.

    Scout and Jem were attacked by Bob Ewell
    On their way home from the pageant Jem and Scout were attacked by Bob Ewell, but Boo Radley came to the rescue. Boo saved the kids and killed Boo Radley. The sheriff knew exactly what happened, but Boo is a mockingbird, and he hasnt done anything wrong in the community, it wouldnt be fair to put Boo under the spotlight. This is where we find out that our mockingbird is and always has been Boo.
  • Scout walks Boo home

    Scout walks Boo home
    After the whole incident Boo wanted Scout to walk him home, and she did. Scout is very happy with the person she has realized Boo is. She understands that he is the mockingbird. Scout finally stood is Boo's shoes, and she realized everything she never knew before.
