    Dill arrives
    Scout meets dill. They get along great. This is scouts first friend outside of her family because she has not started first grade yet. She learns how to interact with people.
  • Fire

    Scout has fun in the first snow she has seen in macomb county. Ms. Maudies house burns down because she left a fire running to keep herself warm. Not knowing scout and Jem are protected from the cold from the outside because Boo Radley covers them up with a blanket.
  • Sick Dog

    Sick Dog
    Scout and Jem find out about Atticus's secret tallent. He is the best shot in macomb. A mad dog comes walking down the street and is too far away for the sherrif to shoot so he hands his gun to atticus. Atticus in one swift motion brings the rifle up and shoots the dog dead. Scout and Jem are amazed.
  • Mrs. Dubose

    Mrs. Dubose
    Jem is punished for destroying Mrs. Dubose's flowers in her front yard. He has to go appoligise and read to her for a few hours every day for a month. Scout decides to go with him, On the first day she falls asleep about an hour and a half into the reading session and he is shood out of the house. She dies shortly after the month is over and Atticus reveals that he believes that she is the strongest person he ever knew.
  • Church

    Calpurnia takes Jem and Scout to her church. She gets yelled at for bringing white children to church. Reverand Sykes welcomes them into the church telling them that he knows what their father does. Scout remembers this and sees Reverand Sykes as a good friendly person.
  • The trial

    The trial
    Scout, Jem, and Dill attend the trial. They sit in the colored section so Atticus does not notice them. Dill starts crying because of the way Mr. Gilmir is Treating Tom Robinson. Scout is impressed by the defending skills of her father.
  • The Verdict

    The Verdict
    Jem is shocked over the verdict of the trial. He can not believe that tom is being found guilty. He was sure that is was going to go the other way. Atticus explains that he knows that he was not going to win. Jem loses all of his faith in the people of Macomb.
  • Bob attacks

    Bob attacks
    On their way home from the Halloween pagent Jem and Scout find themselves in complete darkness. They are attacked by bob ewell. Scout sees Jem being carried off by an unkown man.
  • Boo

    Boo
    Boo Radley appears for the first time in the book. He helped Jem and Scout survive the attack by bob and carried Jem back to his house. Scout finally sees Boo for the first time and her dreams come true.
  • The End

    The End
    Heck Tate convinces Atticus that Jem did not murder Bob. He says that he just fell on his knife. Scout takes Boo's arm and walks him back to his house. She finally sees the world through his view and from his front steps.
