Jem and Scout meet Dill
Jem and Scout met a six year old boy named Dill. He was new to maycomb, Alabama for he was only there for the summer. He told Jem and Scout that his dad owned L and N railroad.
Dill sees a house across the street and asks Jem who lives there. They say a dangerous man named Boo Radley lives in the old house. They say that he took a pair of siccors and stabed his dad with a pair of sciccors. -
Scout goes to school.
Scout was going to school for the first time ever, but she got off on the wrong foot. She was trying to tell her teacher why a boy in the class named Walter Cunningham and got yelled at. Later after the bell rang Scout saw Walter outside and pulled him to the ground and rubbed his nose in the dirt. -
Jem invits Walter Cunningham over for dinner.
During the fight Jem came and pulled Scout off of Walter and apologized for Scouts misbehaivior and invited Walter over for dinner. When dinner comes everyone is sitting at the table then Atticus asks Walter what was the last thing he had for dinner. Walter responded saying he and his dad go hunting for squirls and rabbits. -
The knothole.
A few days after school started Scout found a knothole on a tree outside Mr.Radlys house and walked tward it. She found a little piece of tin foil in the knothole. Turns out it was a stick of gum. She unwrapped it and put it in her mouth. Jem walked by and saw her putting it in her mouth and told her to spit it out. Scoout protested but she ended up spitting it out. -
Dill leaves Maycomb
Few days after school started and Walter came to the house Dill leaves maycomb and goes back to Mississipi. They hear nothing from him. -
Dill comes back.
after a whole year Dill comes back to stay with his aunt again for the summer. The first thing Dill wants to do is go into the Radlys yard Jem didn't want to and Dill was teasing him about it. instead they got a tire, they were going to ride it. -
Jem, Scout, and Dill go to Radlys house
When they got the tire Scout wanted to go first. When Dill still kept teasing Jem he got so frustrated that he pushed the tire too hard. He pushed it so hard that it landed right in Mr.Radlys yard. Jem and Dill immediately run over. Scout got out of the tire and stood terrified at what she is looking at. The Radlys front door. -
Jem and Dill try to get Boo Radly to come out
Scout didn't want to hang out with Jem and Dill so she started hanging with Miss Maudie Atkinson. Jem and Dill were thinking of putting a note at the end of a pole and put it and the window sill asking him to come out. Atticus found out and took the note from them and asked them again not to bother Mr.Radly. -
Jems Pants
Jem and Dill go to Boo Radlys house one day and they looked through his window to see if he was home. Boo saw them and they ran for their lives. When they went under the fence Jems pants got caught to the fence and they were ripped off and left hanging there. -
The gunshot
When Jem and Dill get back from the Radlys house Scout is waiting for then on the porch. Dills aunt calls after him and he goes. Jem tells Scout that he is going back for his pants Sout tries to convince him to come in the house but he doesn't listen. When he gets to the fence he finds his pants folded and hanging on the fence. On his way back a gunshot is herd. -
Goods in the knothole
Jem and scout noticed that everyday there were more things in the knot hole. One day they find two soap figures that look like them. Scout thought they were voodoo dolls. -
Scout gets in her second fight
Shcool had started once again and Dill was gone. One day at school Scout got in another fight with a boy named Cecil Jacobs. She was defending her father because he said that Atticus defends black people. -
The mad dog
One day when Jem and Scoutwere outside playing they see a crazy looking dog they call Calpurnia and when she sees it she immediatly brings the children inside and calls Atticus. The Sheriff comes because he recives a call about a mad dog. They give the gu to Atticus and he shoots the dog. -
Jem turns Twelve
Jem turns twelve, and he gets a large sum of cash for his birthday. He was so happy that not only did he get somethng nice for himself but he bought something nice for his Scout. He bought a baton for Scout and a toy train for himself. -
Jem snaps because of Mrs. Dubose
Jem and Scout were outside playing with there new toys. Mres.dubose saw them and started to say nasty things about Atticus because he was defending a black person. Scout dropped her baton and it hit Jem when she was saying those awful things about his father. Jem got so furious with her that he broke Scouts baton and ruined Mrs. Duboses garden. -
Mrs. Dubose dies
Jems punishment was to read to Mrs. doubose for a month after what happend. But after that month past Mrs.dubose dies. She left a box with a camilla for Jem and he gets angry and throws it at the ground. -
Calpurnia takes the kids to church
One day when Calpurnia was going to church she asked Jem and Scout if they wanted to come, the two siblings were happy to join her. When they got to the church they realized that they were the only white people in the church. One of Calpurnias friends was not happy at all about her bringing the kids and confronts her. -
Jem and Scouts aunt comes for a vist
Jem and Scout were at home when their Aunt Alexandria. She was wealthy she had a chevy, and a black chauffeur who lived in unhealthy conditions but wasn't there this time. Aunt Alexandria came out with the surprise that she was going to stay with them for a while. -
Aunt Alexandria, Jem, Atticus, and Calpurnia try to make Scout act like a girl.
Scout always dresses like a boy and Aunt Alexandria thought it was time for Scout to act like a proper lady. Scout doesn't want to. -
Dill runs away from home.
After a few months Jem and Scout find out that Dill ran away from home. This was shocking to them, aand they were so scared. One night when Scout goes to her room she finds Dill under her bed. Dill confesses that he ran away because his parents weren't giving him any attention.
