Scout and Jem meet Dill
jem and scout meet dill while he is staying wiht his aunt rachel. dill usually lives in meridian and is just there for the summer. sill is immidiatley interested in boo and they come up with maybe strategies to get him out of the house. -
summer ends and scout starts first grade.
Dill reurns home and the Finch children start school. Scout starts the First grade and her teacher, Miss Caroline Fisher tells Scout to stop reading and writing at home with her dad. But Atticus comes up with a compromise where she wouldnt have to do that. -
Scout and Jem start to find items in the tree
Eberyday when Jem and Scout walk home they walk by a tree with a knot hole in it and they start finding little treasures in it put there by boo. They find pennies, gum, a spelling medal, pocket whatch, chain, knife, and soap carvings of a littlle boy and girl. -
The knot hole is filled
Nathan Radley fills the knot hole with cement because he says the tree is dying. yet atticus says he doesnt see anything wrong with the tree, this makes Scout and Jem upset. -
It Snows In Maycomb
it snkows ing maycomb for the first time in scouts life. her and jem make a snow man into a caricutre of Mr. Avery. a couple hours later Miss Maudies house burns down. while the children are standing at the fire Boo puts a blanket on Scouts shoulders. -
Atticus agrees to defend Tom Robinson
Atticus is Going to defend a colored man in court where he is being accused of raping Mayella Ewell, who is daughter of Bob Ewell, who is the most white trash man in maycomb. Atticus doesnt care that he is colored because he knows that Tom is not guilty. -
Atticus Shoots the Mad dog
Atticus shoots the mad dog in the street who might have rabbies. Scout and Jem are amazed that Atticus has any kind of talent,especially the ability to shoot. Jem and Scout both feel Proud of their father but in different ways. -
Jem cuts down Mrs. Dubose flowers
After Mrs. Dubose has been bothering jem and schout all day jem finally has enugh and hacks all of her flowers down, because she says something rude about Atticus. Jems punishement is that he has to read to her everyday. two months later Mrs. Dubose dies. -
Scout stops a mob from attacking Atticus and Tom
jem and scout sneak out to find atticus in town. They find him at the jail house sitting outside of Tom Robinsons jail cell. while theyre whatching him a group of cunninghams show up twith the intention of hurting tom. Scout buts in beofre anything can happen and the groups seperates and no harm happens to Tom or Atticus. -
Tom Robinsons court date
Toms court date comes and its one of the biggest events to happen to Maycomb. dill, jem ,and scout sneak off and sit with Revernd Sykes. Tom is found guilty even though he clearly is not. The children are upset and shocked at the outcome. -
Tom is shot
Tom Robinson goes to prison because he is found guity. he trys to escape because he cant stay there and he is shot 17 times and dies. -
Bob Ewell Attacks Jem and Scout
On the way home from a play Scout was in jem starts to hear noises and they are atacked by a mysterious persom. they both run and jem ends up breaking his arm then Scout gets chocked but before she can be harmed permanly something stops the person. she trys to find Jem but cant then she sees him being carried to her house by an unknown person. She rusheds to the house to to find that jems hurt and the person who saved them is Boo Radley. who killed Bob Ewell but the sheriff say he killed himself -
Scout walks Boo home
Boo asks Scout to walk him home and she purposefully holds his arm like hes walking her insted of the opposite so everyine knows Boo is a good man. He goes inside and Scout never sees him again.
