Muhammad was born in Mecca -a mountain town. He was the only son under his parents, Abd Allah bin Al-Muttalib and Amina bint Wahb.

Muhammad was five when he lost his mother and became an orphan -his father passed away before his birth. He was placed under his paternal grandfather, Abdul Al-Muttalib.

Muhammad did not like Mecca's materialism and idolatry. He moved outside of town. While living in a mountain, he was visited by an overpowering presence that he thought was God.

After multiple visits, Muhammad decides to tell his tribes about the messages he received. Muhammad was ridiculed by public for his non traditional beliefs.

Muhammad and his followers left Mecca. There, the Muslim community began growing. Meccans did not like success in Muslim community.

Mecca may have been powerful before, but Muhammad is even more powerful. Muhammad gathered with other tribes and took over Mecca non-violently.

After a long pilgrimage, Muhammad returned to Medina. Few months later, Muhammad suffered from illness and passed away.

In his early twenties, Muhammad started working for a merchant, Khadijabint Khawalayd. Muhammad and the merchant were distant cousins.
