    Muhammad was born at Mecca, Saudi Arabia on the Arabian Peninsula. This date was determined from the accounts that say he was born in the year of the elephant and named for the battle in which the people of Mecca defended their city from the powerful Abyssinian army. (Gordon 12)

    Small pox was a very contagious, very dangerous disease . It was caused by a virus, that was going around in the year of 600. At one point small pox was in India, and spreading through that country. In 600 the disease was spread to Europe killing many people.

    Muhammad's First Revelation
    Muhammad receives his first revelation in 610 on the 17th night of Ramadan. When he ws alone in a cave, he had a surreal experience with an angel. On this night, the angel was in the form of a man. This angel commanded Muhammad to "recite." Muhammad explained to the angel that he was not a reciter, but the angel embraced him so tightly he could barely breathe and then the angel repeated the command. At that moment, Muhammad found himself speaking the first words of the Koran. (Gordon 12)

    The Battle of Badr was fought on Saturday, March 13, 624. The battle was fought in the Hejaz region of Western Arabia, which is now present day Saudi Arabia. This battle was a key battle and a turning point for Muhammad's struggle with his opponents, the Quraish, because it ended the conflict.This battle is also one of the few battles that is mentioned in the Quran.     The Farewell Pilgrimage was the last pilgrimage Muhammad ever took. At the end of the pilgrimage, Muhammad read a famous speech at Mount Arafat. The speech contained material about Arabs and non-Arabs. The speech also stated material about whites and blacks. (Oliver 9)

    Muhammad Dies

    Muhammad Dies
    Muhammad fell ill and suffered for several days with fever, head pain, and weakness. He died on Monday, 8 June 632, in Medina, at the age of 62 or 63, in the house of his wife Aisha. Muhammad died with his head resting on Aisha's lap, and right before he passed, he asked her to dispose of his last worldly goods (seven coins). He was buried in Aisha's house, where he had died. Many people still try to make a ritual visit to the tomb. (Oliver 9)

    The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah was an important event that took place during the formation of Islam. It was a treaty between Muhammad and the Quraish tribe in March 628. It helped to decrease tension between the two cities, committed both sides to peace for ten years, and allowed Muhammad's followers to return the following year in a peaceful pilgrimage, (Oliver 9)

    The Tang Dynasty was started by Li Yuan
    In 618 a new dynasty was started. This new dynasty was called the Tang Dynasty, which was started by Li Yuan. After Li became emperor, he re-named himself Emporer Gaozu. The Tang Dynasty died in the year of 907.

    The Conquering of the Suebic Kingdom.
    In the year of 585, the Suebic Kingdom was conquered. The kingdom was conquered by the Visigothic Kingdom. The leader of the Visigothic Kingdom at the time was Liuvigild. Liuvuguld conquered the Suebic Kingdom when they were in the middle of a civil war, which was a very weak time for the Suebic.

    The Sui Dynasty was a short lived Chinese dynasty that started in 581. The Sui Dynasty was founded by Emporer Wen. Two of the Dynasties amazing achievements' are rebuilding the Great Wall of China and creating the Great Canal. The Dynasty died in the year of 618.
