The national assembly was comprised of a group of representativies from the third estate. The assembly attempted to deal with the national debt and food shortages in the country. The assembly concluded that taxes imposed by the moanarchy had been done so illegally, but all members voted the taxes back into play -
France declares War on Austria
After public opinion reached an overelming majority supporting war, France delcared war on Austria. The monarchy wanted war because they bleieved that foreign powers could crush the revolutionaists. The Revoluationists wanted war because they believed that a war would unify the country.
