The Battle of Lake Erie was a three hour long battle. It took place at Put-In-Bay. The American flagship was badly damaged. The American commander, Oliver Hazard Perry, lead this battle.

At the Battle of Horseshoe Bend, the Creeks attacked. Andrew Jackson took command of the battle in Georgia. At the end, the Creeks had to give up millions of acres of land due to the treaty that ended the war.

The Star Spangled Banner tells a story of ones view of a night. It was written by Francis Scott Key. It started to become popular. Eventually, people put music to it. Congress made it the National Anthem for America.

Some delegates thought that New England states should secede from America. Then, news of a peace treaty arrived. The idea of the New England States seceding quickly ended due to the peace treaty arriving.

The Treaty of Ghent officially ended the war. The Treaty also turned things back to the way they were before the war. Britain and Belgium had signed the treaty.

Federalsit critics spoke out more strongly about the war. New Englanders in particular disliked the war. They disliked the war becuase the blockade had badly damged New England trade.
