    British forces capture Washington, D.C. The White House, the Capitol, and executive department offices are burned.

    The British attack on Baltimore, initiated on September 14th, is repelled after three days of fighting

    Two weeks after negotiators in Europe reach agreement on a peace treaty to end the War of 1812
