    Nicholas II becomes czar of Russia
    Nicholas was born on May 18, 1868, in Pushkin, Russia. He became the czar of Russia when his father Alexander III died in 1894. Nicholas did not have very much expereience in government and did not know how to properally take action in his country. Russia was behind in development so when Russia went to war there was not enough guns to supply all of Russias ssoldiers. He was also the one to blame for Bloody Sunday. On July 17, 1918 Lenin had the Bolsheviks murder him and his family.

    The war started becuase Russia denied Japans plans to divide Manchuria and Korea so Japan could have power over the development of those two regions. They both wanted to be dominate over these regions. This war proved that Russia was far behind in technoly, agriculture, and industrial development. Japan won the war

    Russia Entered World War one in 1914. They joined there allies Britain and France who were fighting agaist Germany and Austria. Russias army was very large but since there country was not very advanced in technology there was no way to trnsport/build enough machinery and food for the men fighting. There were three times as many men as there were guns and food so there were many loses from starvation, sickness, and injury.

    Two main events happend during the March Revolution. This first one was overthrowing Nicholas the 2nd and having the Bolsheviks assasinate him and his family. The other main event was wen the Bolsheviks helped establishe the Soviet Union. Some key factors that started the March Revolution is Weakness of Russia, World War I, and that the Duma and army abandanded the czar.

    Czar Nicholas II abdicates the Russian throne
    Nicholas Became the ruler of Russia in 1984 but was not prepared to be a czar. He did not fulfill his duties properally which caused his people to strike. Nicholas then had no other option but to abdicate the throne becuase he was not fit to rule Russia. After he stepped down him and his family were kept like prisoners until they were all shot to death after taking there last family photo.

    This was a war between the Reds (communists) and the Whites (Democracy) in Russia. Russia was divided between these two sides. The Bulshiviks (Reds) won for many reasons. They had the peasants on there side ( a lot of poeple), they were more orgnazized, Trotsky was great in a stratigic way, and they had control od Moscow and Petrograd. About 8 million people died during the war becuase of starvation, disease, dying in action, ect.

    The U.S.S.R. also known as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was created because of the Russian Revolution. The U.S.S.R is made up of 15 republics. It is a form of government that took over Russia for many years.

    Lenin was the first leader of the Soviet Union and an architect. He died at the age of 54 of a brain hemerainge. While Lenin was alive he tried to help the economy by abandoning socialism. This ment that he would let farmers sell there crops and kep there profit which was a big success. He also helped Russia get peace with Germany by giving them part of Russias land. Some believe Lenin had denounce the revolution. This is what caused The Russian Revolution.
  • Bloody Sunday

    Bloody Sunday
    It started with thousands of Russias people gathering for a protest during the rule of Nicholas The 2nd. Nicholas claims that only a few were killed. The Russian army opened fire on the protesters killing many and wounding a few. The protest ended shortly.
