  • Steam Engine

    The steam engine changed the way that we live because it allowed people to get around faster and more efficient allowing them to go to further places that they wouldn’t be able to go. Thomas Savery invented the steam engine in 1712. The steam engine was improved in 1769 by James watt. The steam engine was powered by steam.
  • The spinning Jenny

    A british carpenter named James Hargreaves invented the spinning jenny. The machine can spin more than one ball of yarn or thread at a time. It was good because it was quick and easy.
  • Cotton Gin

    The cotton gin is a machine that can quickly separate cotton fibres from their seeds Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin in 1793 the cotton gin was good because it was so quick to separate the cotton fibres from the seed.
  • Telegraph

    The telegraph was invented Samuel morse the telegraph was life changing it allowed people to communicate all over the world the first telegraph was sent in 1844 using 35 gold wires.
  • Elevator safety break

    The elevator safety break was invented so it would reduce the amount of deaths when the elevator cable breaks the brake stops the elevator from hitting the ground when the cable snaps. The elevator brake was revolutionary because it allowed people the build buildings higher instead of wider. he proved it worked by going into an elevator and cutting the cable.
  • The bessemer process

    The bessemer was the first inexpensive process for the mass production of steel. it works by removing the impurities from the steel. when the required steel has been made it is poured into ladels and then transferred into moulds when the lighter slag is left behind.
  • Dynamite

    Dynamite is an explosive material invented in 1866 before dynamite people used salt bombs which were very unstable. Dynamite can use sawdust powdered shells and many other things but organic materials are less stable. Dynamite is a high explosive which means it's power from the detenation not the defagration.
  • Vaccines

    Vaccines were invented in 1870 by louis pasteur. Vaccines were life changing because it cut down the death rate from diseases and all people needed to do was have this medicine. Vaccines usually contyain a small dose of the disease and then your body knows how to fight the disease.
  • Telephone

    The telephone was a real breakthrough because it lets people connect all over the world instantly while being in your own house. A telephone converts sound into electronic signals and sends them to other telephones.
  • Light Bulb

    Thomas edispn was the first person to use a light bulb in a lamp. The light bulb revolutionized the world because now people could use light bulbs instead of candles, this made it safer because if a candle fell over it would light things on fire and people could get burnt or killed. Where as if a light bulb breaks there would just be some broken glass which would cut the skin but not kill people.
  • Brooklyn bridge

    The brooklyn bridge opened in 1883 this bridge changed life because it was the first suspension bridge. It connects the bouroghs of manhattan and brooklyn. It was the first steel wire suspension bridge in the world.
  • Airplane flight

    The first powered airplane flight was made by Orville wright it was the first fixed wing airplane flight in the world.
  • Model T

    The model t was a life changing invention for people all over the world. it is regarded as the first affordable locomotive in the world. the model t was named the most influential car of the 20th century.
