    The spinning Jenny was invented by James Hargreaves. The spinning jenny was designed and used to turn cotton into threads. This invention was useful because it wove together many different types of fabrics. This invention was created in England. This invention didn't change society too much because Hargreavas didn't want to sell his invention. After his family lost a lot of money, he sold a few to factories and mills.
  • Cotton Gin

    Invented by Eli Whitney, the cotton gin started the industtrial revolution in the United States. The cotton gin was used on many plantations to remove seeds from cotton. This invention made the lives of the people who cleaned cotton so much easier because it cleaned the cotton, fast and easy. The cotton gin was created in the Georgia. This invention caused cotton to become the cash crop of the south. It also caused an increase in slavery.
  • Fulton's Steamboat

    Fulton's steamboat was invented by Robert Fulton. Fulton's steamboat allows people to travel over water at a faster pace than traveling by sailboat. This invention was needed so people could easily travel through the United States by water. The English sold Fulton the steam engine, but the boat itself was manufactured in the United States. This steamboat allowed people to travel across water chaper and quicker. It also helped with the westward movement across America.

    The reaper was invented by Cyrus Hall McCormick. The reaper made harvesting grains and wheat easier and more efficient. This invention was needed because harvesting wheat was a very difficult job, and the farmers needed something to harvest it with. The reaper had major factories in Chicago. This changed society because it made harvesting wheat more efficiant. So, wheat became a moajor crop for farmers.
