    Philip VI became the King of France
    Charles IV died without a male heir and Edward III was suppose to inherit the throne but he was english and the people of France didn't like the idea of being ruled by someone who was english so Philip IV became the ruler of France

    Effects on government

    Instead of the lords all controlling each of their manners and trying to fights by themselves, all of the lords were now taking orders from a King which made fighting more effective. Later on, even after all the wars, the lords would still follow the King's orders because they were so used to doing that during war time

    This battle gave England command of the English Channel for an entire generation and this made land victories following this battle possible for the English.

    The English won and from that point onward, the English Army could no longer be discounted, and the effectiveness of the longbow showed that mounted knights were going to be the ones harder to beat with their advantage of being higher up and having an effective longbow

    By the end of this battle, the whole war was over and the treaty toryes(1420) also led to the end of this war
  • Contributions to the end of the Middle Ages

    Both France and England used a lot of their financial resources for every battle which led depleted resources. The centralized government ended their monarchy and putting a lot of their resources into technological military advances also led to the end of the Middle Ages.
