    The first estate was the Clergy, they had 1% of the population and 10% of the land; paid no texes. The second estate was the Nobility, they had 1-2% of the population and owned 30% of the land: paid no taxes. The third estate was the commoners, they had 98% of the population and owned 60% of the land; paid ALL the taxes.

    King Louis called the estates general together to decide what they were going to do about the bankrupt situation and the 1st and 2nd estate out voted the 3rd estate on who paid the taxes.

    After the 3rd estate got out voted, they found it unfair so they stormed out and went to the meeting room next door, but King Louis locked there door so they went out to the tennis court and made the Tennnis Court Oah and the Declaration of Right of Men. These documents would stick up for the commoners.

    Many women walked 12 miles to Versailles. They were armed with swords, guns and spears. They wanted bread and the king to sign the D.R.M. Thousands to women broke through the gates at versailles and slaughtered the gaurds, then captured the king and queen forced them to sign the D.R.M after that they took all the food from the castle.
