King louis XVI was executed with a guillotine then six months later her wife Marie Antoinette was acused of treason by a tribunal and in october followed her husband steps and was executed by the guillotine

Since king louis XVI was no longer alive Maximilien Robespierre became the new leader of France and was basically a dictatorship and his time as leader was known as “the reign of terror”

Members of the national convention went against maximilien and wanted him to be arrested and execution. Which he was later killed by the guillotine.
