    National Assembly Formed

    King Louis XVI was promoted to king after his grandfather King Louis XIV died in 1715. Though being promoted to King, he was lacking experience and went through limited training to become a strong King. After his Grandfather died, France became broke after funding the Seven Year War, The third estate after noticing the inequality, decided to start the National Assembly to make their own government to overthrow the country. This event would lead to the start of the rebellion.
  • The Tennis Court Oath

    The Tennis Court Oath

    After being locked out of the National Assembly building by the king, the third estate decided to find a new building, an indoor tennis court. Inside they pledged to continue rebelling until the king agreed upon their demands of equality and economic reform. This event marks the beginning of the French revolution. As well as fuel the third estate to overthrow the monarchy.
  • The Storming of the Bastille

    The Storming of the Bastille

    The third estate no longer wanted an economic reform, they now wanted a revolution and to be feared. They started attacking buildings though they were lacking gun powder they had a solution, to attack a prison and demand gunpowder. This event spreaded uprisings for the downfall of the Ancien Regime. As well as it represented power and fear in the revolution.

    The revolution spread Ideas to replace the absolute monarchy with the republic giving the King less power. This would end soon, as later France became a Republic leading to the end of the Absolute monarchy.
    This would lead to different leaders throughout the French revolution to rise up. As well as this idea would spread across Europe and worldwide.

    This was the First French republic after the monarchy was overthrown. This caused the social and political structures to change. This event inspired people worldwide reshaping European politics for equality.

    After declaring war on Austria, Austria planned on taking over France and putting king louis XVI back on the throne after being stripped from his throne. Though Robespierre came up with an idea, to kill off King Louis XVI so Austria has no choice but to back off. France would no longer have a king after his death. This causes France to have conflict for who has power for the next years.

    The reign of terror, this was a period in the French Revolution where violence was seen as an answer. This was led by Robespierre who executed whoever was against the revolution by the guillotine. It also reshaped the French revolution. As this period contributes to shaping today's view of human rights and democracy.

    Marie Antoinette Beheading

    Marie Antoinette, former Queen of France, was beheaded for her adequate contribution towards the French revolution. She was beheaded on the guillotine. Her beheading represents and shows that the French monarchy collapsed. Her beheading threatened and worried other monarchies, as France were spreading more ideas of civic nationalism.

    End of Reign of Terror

    The reign of terror came to an end after the fall of Robespierre and his associates. This stopped the violent mass executions happening across france. This was a turning point for France after a long period of violence. This would lead to a relaxed country and government.
