Estate General called
The estate general was called for the first time in over 150 years because king Louis could not run the country. It that was his solution to fixing the problem by letting everyone fix it for him. The estate general was made up of three groups the first class the second class and the third class each group had one collective vote. even though the third class had the most people they got nothing of what they wanted the first and second classes got every thing they wanted. -
National Assembly Formed
The national assembly was formed by the third class which made up 95 98 present of the population. after the estate general meeting they realized that they had no power or say and were just there to pay taxes and feed the first and second class. So they created an assembly to try and fix it. -
Tennis Court Oath
The tennis court oath was a pledge taken by the national assembly that said that they would remain together until a new constitution had been made. The reason it was called the Tennis court oath was because when they were going to meet at the meeting hall they were meeting at they found it was locked so they when down the street to an indoor tennis court were they stared to meet. -
The Storming of the Bastille
The storming of bastille was a prison in which the national assembly thought that there were smart people inside who could help them but it turned out that there was hardly anyone there but they did get lots of weapons from the prison. It also made the king pay more attention to them because of how they attacked the prison and of all the weapons they had now. -
Constitutional Monarchy formed
the constitutional monarchy had the job of writing up a set of laws for the country and the king. It was Frances first laws that made so the king had to follow them. It was also Frances first government that was not a king. -
France is a Republic
For the first time ever France was a republic because the king had given up some of his power. The third class citizen's started doing what they wanted and making life more fair for the third class. -
Marie Antoinette Beheaded
Marie Antoinette was not well liked, she didn't think anything of the third class, because she didn't even care if they had food to eat. She was not in support of there being a government, and thought they should just leave it with a king. she was captured and tried for treason and then beheaded. -
Reign of Terror Begins
The reign of terror was made by the committee of public safety and there main supporter and organizer was Maximilien de Robespierre The public safety committee would go to any one who they thought was a threat or spoke up against the country would go to trial and most times would be beheaded. -
Reign of Terror Ends
There were a few reason it ended one was the people were getting tired of seeing everyone executed. But the main reason it ended was Maximilien Robespierre was killed, mainly because there was a struggle for power and who should be leader. -
What was the legacy of the French Revolution.
The main legacy is the Rights and freedoms of the people as well as a democratic government, and the ending of the feudal system. The French revolution was one of the first of its kind which set the stage other nations to do the same.
