    Napoleon Bonaparte was born on August 15th 1769. This could even be considered the very begining of the revolution due to his successe as an artillery officer and general.

    The first major event leadint to the revolution was the meeting at Versailles where the third estate declared itself a "national assembly" due to the king agitating the third estate.

    Tension grows

    It's during this period of time where the tensions grew to the point of the seige of the Bastille. Due to the numerous failures of the king mobs began forming and it's due to king Louis XVI failing to lead his country through it's darkest hour.

    The king of France king Louis tried to shut down the new assembly made by the third estate. But he failed in his attempts to disband the assembly. They demanded a new constitiotion and they would not disband until they received what they wanted and needed.
  • The agreement

    The Tennis court oath had shown king Louis XVI that the national assembly was determined to draft a new constitution with or without the monarchy. Due to the national assembly standing their ground and not disband a reluctant Louis agreed to the idea of a new constitution.
  • The cavalries retreat.

    In the afternoon of July, 12th, 1789 one hundred German mounted cavalry and three hundred Swiss infantry had been in place of the king. Naturally citizens began gathering in front of the small army. At first only to observe the soldiers. But as the numbers grew so did their fury. The mob had started assualting the cavalry by throwing nearby stones at the mounted soldiers. The cavalry charged but the sheer size of the mob detured the cavalry from engaging.

    The king had called back the Swiss and Germans and permited the Bourgeoisie of Paris to arm themselves for the preservation of the city. The mob now openly joined by French gaurds then took the prison of St. Lazare. They released all of the prisioners and took the corn store to the market. They had obtained arms and the gaurds had began training the mob to use them.
  • The storming of the Bastille.

    By the time that the mobs had began to gather they had already suffered enough for them to be set off like a powder keg. It took only the mobs own anger to storm the historic prison to obtain arms. During the assault a powder keg detonated killing four people that were participating in the assault. A surprise to many bystanders at the Bastille was the fact of during the whole assualt the five thousand foreign troops camped four hundred yards away never sturred.

    After hearing about the mobs marching to Versallies to cut off the head of the king queen and every person, man, woman, and child that was even associated with the courts, nobility or clergy every courtsman and even the favorites of the queen retired to await the mobs with their loved ones.
  • The revolution begins.

    The revolution begins.
    The rumors of the king's intent to scramble troops to slaughter the national assembly caused fear and uncertanty in the nation. Due to this the aristocrats resigned all their feudal rights. The revolution has begun.
  • Mr. Bonaparte dies

    Mr. Bonaparte dies
    Napoleon's contribution to history is emense. His strategic victories and world changing veiws revolutionized the world. He put codes for conduct that are still used to this day. His strategies are still studied. Napoleon was truly an effective leader who could turn the tide if placed properly. In the end his own ambition killed him.
