    The First Assembly of Notables
    About a year ago, Charles Alexandre de Calonne had declared a finacial crisis. This assembly was held inorder to find a solution to the problem. They discussed the raising and lowering of taxes, this did not work. The assembly dissolved on May 25th , 1787
  • A Declaration from the King

    A Declaration from the King
    France has a population of about 27 million. King Louis the XVI, declares that the third estate will have twice as many representitives as the other two parties. He then declares that each order will only recieve one vote. This made the clergy and nobles have a majority vote.
  • The Tennis Court Oath

    When the king close a meeting of the Thrid Estate, the assembly moves to Tennis Court of Versailles (Jeu de Paume). They take an oath and say they will not move until a constitution is approved.

    Angry with the price of grain, Parisians aqiure 3,000 rifles and demand to be let in to city. The crowd is fired upon. 100 are killed, but the rest bring Bastille to its knees.

    The King and his family attempt to leave france , after the king's secret meeting with his cousin in Spain. After he is brought back , the common people fear an outside invasion

    The King is found guilty of conspiring against the nation. He is then sent to be be headed at Place de la Republique.
  • Slavery is Abolished

    Slavery is Abolished
    In 1794, a big law was passed. In some colonies there was no longer slavery
  • Napolean is named First consol

    After Napolean returns from battle, he is crowned the First consul of France
  • The Revolution ends

    The Revolution ends
    A new constitution is signed and proclaimed and submitted for approval in a plebiscite. Thus, ending the Revolution
