Meeting of the Estates General
This was a meeting were 300 persons from Celrgy, 300 persons form the nobles, and 600 persons from the common people got together to try and change things a bit. -
Voted to Establish the National Assembly - then Tennis Court Oath
The National Assembly is a revolucanry assmbly formed by representetives of the Common People (Third Estate).
The Tennis Court Oath was a pledge they sighned saying that they will allways stay tofether no matter what. It is called the Tennis Court Oath because this took place on a Tennis Court -
Storming of the Bastille
This happened in the prison of Paris, France. There waere only seven prisoners at that time, but it showed abuse to the monarchy. When this happened King Louis XVI knew he had no cotrol over his people any more. -
The division between the estates ended
Finally the fuedalism was over there was no difference between the three estates. Within a few hours that this was declared all of the higher classes lost their privileges. -
Declaration of the rights of Man and of the Citizen
This document was passed by the National Assembly. It was a document that had the French Revolution and the history of humans and civil rights. -
Bread Riots
There was a bread shortage because of the economy. The lower classes could not afford bread so many went to jail because they stole some. -
Royal family trys to leave the situation.
King Louis XVII tried to escape Paris to go to Austria, were they would protect him. But his plan failed because of his people. -
New constitution
This constitution had limited monarchy and Legislative Assembly was created. This constitution was created mainly by the people in the third estate. -
Declared war on Austria and Prussia
When they started war the started very poorly, but as the war progressed they started getting better and better. -
Ended Monarchy for Good
At this time they noticed that monarchy wasn't working for them so they decided to take it away and they changed their goverment to executive power.
