The case of South Africa

  • The Dutch Republic was invaded by France.

    As the Dutch Republic was invaded by France, they went to South Africa because it was like a Dutch colony and established a puppet government

  • British invaded and seized control with Napoleon's defeat

    Taking advantage of this, the British invaded and seized control with Napoleon's defeat. The Dutch recovered their colonies except for the Cape of Good Hope.

  • The Boers traveled to the north, in the hopes of finding new lands

    It was very difficult and dangerous.

  • Boers discovered diamonds in the place where they were assented

    Fights started to appear

  • Boers were losing power, they started to be more poor

    So Boers started to ask for help to the British

  • British were gaining territory to the Zulus and derroted them.

  • British annexed with the Boers.

    But then Boers decided to get independence, and defeated the British because they were badly organized.

  • British surrounded the Boer´s territory.

  • British conquered the Boers
