Tenochtitlan, Texcoco and Tlacopan are formed and are the Aztecs heart. They were called the triple alliance. In 1428 it started to expand from just these three countries.

In 1476 Tenochtitlan got it’s first ruler. The called him the Tlatoani. There was also an emperor named Huey Tlatcani.

The city Tenochtitlan flooded.This happened in 1510. It was the biggest flood in there history.

In 1510 the Aztecs tenth king Cuitláhuac died. He died from smallpox. It was a very sad time for the people.

In 1517 all of the Aztecs thought they were going to die. There was a comet, well what they thought was a comet. But it wasn’t really a comet.

In 1519 Cortes came to Tenochtitlán. Then he became to overrule it. It happened on the 8th of November.

In 1519 the Aztecs stopped expanding because of the Europeans arrived. It was now at the pacific to the all the way to the gulf of mexico. It even went to Guatemala.

When 1520 came along the Aztecs were doomed. Cortes slowly invaded their main city first. Their city was Tenochtitlan. So, the rest could not survive without it. Because there government failed and most of the population was wiped out.

In 1521 there was the fall of Tenochtitlan. They surrendered to Cortes. Then after that, they destroyed the city. One of the ways they destroyed the city is with the disease smallpox

Today the Aztecs are in Mexico. It has been about 550 years since they have fallen. But, there are about 1 million Aztecs in the country today.
