    Democritus was the first to say all matter is made up of atoms. He named them after the greek word atomos which means uncuttable. He also said they are all different shapes and sizes.

    Aristotle disagreed with Democritus although Democritus was right. Aristotle thought everything was made up of 5 different elements- Water, Earth, Wind, Fire, and Ether. Even though he was wrong, he had a stronger influence on people.
