  • Fredonian rebellion

    Fredonian rebellion
    The Fredonian rebellion was the first attempt by Anglo Americans to segate from Mexico.It was led by empresario Haden Edwards. It had all started when Haden had received a land grant and when he arrived at the land people were already on his land living there.The government later removed his grant and the people on his land and said if they didn't have paperwork for the land it shall be deducted.As a result the Mexican president was forced to increase the amount of military there.

    The law of April 6th angered many citizens in Texas due to it having a severe impact on immigration to Mexico from the U.S.Another reason it angered them was the fact natural born Mexicans had lots more privileges than others.Another reason was because people could no longer bring slaves from anywhere else anymore.Lastly the fact that you had to be picked to become an empresario.If this law was not made the Texas Revolution may not have happened until later on.

    Santa Annas role in the Texas Revolution started when Santa Annas Mexican soldiers were sent to confiscate a cannon and the texans standed armed yelling come and take it with the cannon well hidden.No one took action until 2 days later when texans attacked Santa Annas armies camp thinking theyll do the same and this started the Texas Revolution.The way it started was because Santa Anna repealed the mexican constitution of 1824.If this had not happened we may have still been under mexico today.

    The battle began when the colonel requested the cannon back but when the settlers refused he sent 1000 troops to near the town.On October 1st the troops opened fire and the settlers opened fire. On October 2nd the troops retreated.This had started the texas revolution.
