    The Signing of the Declaration of Independence
    On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed by 56 people, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Hancock. The document was written to declare our independence, and so that the 13 colonies could be free from Britain.
  • The Founding of Pennsylvania

    The Founding of Pennsylvania
    On this day, William Penn, founded the State of Pennsylvania. PA was the second state founded, and is known as "The Keystone State."
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase
    President Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana Territory from France for fifteen million dollars. That is equal to roughly three cents an acre. The purchase more than doubled the size of the nation, and gave the US complete control of the Mississippi River.

    The Lewis and Clark Expedition
    From 1804 to 1806, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark led an journey to explore the west. They also had to record the different flora and fauna found, and draw accurate maps. They got help from a 16-year-old Native American girl named Sacagawea, who helped to guide them. During the journey, only one person died.

    The Texas Revolution
    In the Texas Revolution, the Americans that were settled in Texas, a Mexican territory, fought against the Mexican government to gain independence. The Texas Revolution lasted from 1835 to 1836. After the Texas Revolution, the state of Texas became its own nation, until it wanted to be admitted into the US.

  • The Battle of the Alamo

    The Battle of the Alamo
    The Alamo was from February 2, 1836 to March 6, 1836. During the Battle of the Alamo, a small fort in Texas was invaded by the Mexican army. The Texans were greatly outnumbered, but fought anyway. Every Texan man in the Alamo was killed by the Mexicans, but the women and children were spared to send a message to America not to come.

    This is when LCBC (Lives Changed By Christ), was founded. It is a nine campus megachurch, spanning across PA. It was formerly known as Lancaster County Bible Church, but is now in multiple counties. It is one of the largest churches in the country, and it is where I go to church at.
