I grew up listening to my own collection of records on a huge, box, record player, stereo system. There was a lever to pull that would move the arm with the needle to beginning of the record..it always scared me to have to try and manually place the needle on a different track on the record. It would scratch and skip easily.

Our television was a huge black and white boxed t.v. that had antennas we would put on the top and would constantly have to move and add aluminum foil balls to the end to try and get a clear picture. We had a choice of 3 channels. We also had to get up and turn the dial to change the channel.

When my older siblings came home from their mission, we had many family nights watching their mission slides on these devices!

I used to play on our family typewriter. I loved to watch my mom type my siblings school reports and was in awe with how quickly she could punch those old keys. When I got to high school, I did type a few of my own reports on that very typewriter.

When I grew up, the phone we used hung on the wall, had a long cord that would constantly get tangled, and had a rotary dial that made it very easy to call the wrong number is you didn't pull the dial all the way to end with each number.

When I was about 10 years old, my dad bought a video store. That was the first time we ever had a VCR in our house. I worked at the store and rented these big VCR's out to customers every day. They came with cool padded carrying cases.

I thought I had died and gone to heaven when our family finally got our first microwave. No more heating my can of soup on the stove!!!!

Fun memory being in seminary and being the chosen student who got to turn the dial for the next frame on this baby!

This thing was definitely a brick. We only got it because there were no phone lines run in our subdivision when it was first built so the builder gave us all temporary cell phones.
