Tarapoto was founded in August 20th, 1782 by the Spanish Bishop Baltasar Jaime Martínez Compañón.
It's well known as “La Ciudad de las Palmeras” but its real name is “Santa Cruz de los Motilones de Tarapoto”.
  • FIRST DAY

    FIRST DAY
Our 1st day was a real adventure. First, we arrived late to the hotel (about noon) because of two reasons: the flight was delayed and two suitcases got lost. Then, we went to “URKUS RESERVE”. In this place, we knewn a lot of native animals that were in risk of getting out of their habitat. We took a lot of photos and had much fun. We stayed there during two hours, and finally we came back to the hotel.
  • SECOND DAY

    SECOND DAY
The 2nd day, we got up very early in the morning and went to Moyobamba to visit children from a local school and we brought gifts to them. After that, we went to “El Jardín Botánico de Orquídeas” and we took many pictures of beautiful plants and flowers. In the afternoon, we visited “Los Baños termales de San Mateo”. In this awesome place, we couldn’t get into the hot springs because it was raining and, again, we came back to the hotel.
  • THIRD DAY

    THIRD DAY
The 3rd day, we went to the chocolate factory "Orquídea". We learnt how to make chocolate and we bought many boxes of chocolate. Then, we went to the "Laguna Azul", it was awesome to get into a boat. After that, we came back to the hotel and there was a special event: people dance and had a lot of fun. My friends played in the pool and i went to get my suitcases already.
  • FINAL DAY

    FINAL DAY
The last day we went to "Biodiversidad" and we took a lot of pictures. Later, we knew "Las Cataratas de Ahuashiyacu" and my friends loved to play there. We returned to the hotel and went out to visit the museam in Lamas. We met the resident from 1st floor of Lamas. These people were very friendly.
In the evening, we went to the airport to travel back to Lima.
  • For me this travel was a excellent experience.
