Today we created a space game using Powerpoint, we inserted hyperlinks, pictures and clips..Decisions needed to be made about how it looked and how effective it was and also if it was fun to play.

Today in our science lesson we learnt about day and night. One of my sentances about day and night was that the Earth takes 24 hours to spin around on it`s axis .

We have been learning about the phases of the moon.
As the moon orbits the earth we see diffrent parts of the moon. only one half of the moon is lit up. the lit up side orbits the earth. -
Today we wrote non-chronological reports, i tried to include emmbedded clauses one of my sentences was As well as spinning this scarlet planet orbits the Sun, like many other planets, it takes 11.86 years.

In our art and design lessons, we talked about Alberto Giacommeti. He was a famous sculptor. We used his work as inspiration to design our own version. We tried to show how a astronaut or alien might look in space.

We have been adding the 3Dimensioanl effect to our models using mod rock. It made a huge mess but was lots of fun - you can see some of the work in progress on our blog site !

We have being learning about craters on the moon. We made models of craters using NASA photographs. Usign a torch we then tried to recreate the shadows that would form if we were astronauts on the Moon.

Today our models were finally dry enough for us to be able to paint them. They look fab.

Our Class has been designing and making powerpoint presentations all about Space. We are hoping to share these with Year 2 after the half term holiday. We learnt lots of new skills such as hyperlinking, embedding videos and ensuring the text was appropriate for our auidence.
