Packing Up For Texas
We are going to move to Texas. Kurt the dad is helping Annliese the mom pack and the twins Charlotte and Christina who are 5 are helping too. After we get ready, Annilese will help the twins get dressed. We can't wait to get out of Germany and hop on the boat. In Germany there is unemployment issues and crop failures and Texas is a better place for those things. After we get off the boat we will get on a wagon to the Camerons Grant. That is where we will move to. -
On the Boat
It is hard on the boat for Kurt and Annilese because the twins are only five and can get sick very easily. Kurt is only 29 and he as two little girls who love to bug him. Annliese who is 26 helps Kurt with the two crazy little girls. -
Still Floating
Once we get to Texas Annliese will sew, cook, and help tend the new house. Kurt will build and make trades for things we need. The girls will help mom cook and learn to sew. We are 2 days away from Texas. -
WE ARE THERE!!!!!!
When we first saw Texas we where so happy. Christina and Charlotte started to jump up and down with a smile on there faces. Annliese was so happy she fainted. Kurt was shocked. The trip on the boat was about a month. The weather was perfect on the boat and there was 1 storm, but it was not long. We went around Greenland and took a straight path right between two islands right to the south part of Texas. -
Loving Texas
So far Texas is great. We are on the wagon.The boat ride was about a month We hope that the route on the wagon is much quicker than on the boat. -
Charlotte has a diesese
Charlotte has a very bad case of smallpox. Annilese is taking care of Charlotte. We think she will die in 2 days. It is night and we don't want Charlotte to go to bed because she my die in her sleep. -
NOOO!!!!
CHARLOTTE HAS DIED!!! Annliese is using fragrence to keep Charlottes body from not rotting so we can bury her her in Texas. Kurt will make a headstone. Annliese is so sad and so is Christina. Christina is crying and cant believe she is a only child. She will be remembered forever. -
WE ARE THERE
Yeah!!! We are there in Texas. We are about to make a house. We will bury Charlotte tommorow. We chose to live here because there is good soil to grow crops and cheap land. We are so happy we are here. The wagon ride was long but we got to see lots of things we have never seen in Germany. Our life will be differrent because we will be able to grow crops and we wont starve and it won't be not so crouded. We will be able to hunt and fish because there is a river right by us.We are so glad now.
