  • I Was Born

    I Was Born
    I was born August 29 2001, which was about a week before I was supposed to be born. I was born with severe jaundice, which meant that I had the opposite blood type from my mother, and that lead to my kidneys not working very well. I was in a light blanket for two weeks which helps things move along in my body. My parents were nervous, since if it continued I would have needed a kidney transplant. Luckily I recovered and have had nothing that bad ever since.

    9/11
    The 9/11 attacks, happened at the pentagon, a rural field in Pennsylvania, and at the Twin Towers. On that morning, and plan crashed into they North Tower instantly killing people, and minutes later another planed crashed into the South Tower. An hour after the Twin Towers, a plane crashed onto the West side of the Pentagon. The fourth plane had an unknown destination, but the people on board fought, and the plane crashed into the field.

  • Operation Enduring Freedom

    Operation Enduring Freedom
    In responds to the 9/11 attacks, George W. Bush announced that America and America's allies would be attacking terrorist sites and camps. Operation Freedom started with a conflict in Afghanistan, the attacks coming from both the United States and United Kingdom's naval ships.     No Child Left Behind (NBLC)
    NCLB, which passed Congress with overwhelming bipartisan support was signed into law by President George W. Bush in 2002. The NCLB law­­ significantly increased the federal role, holding schools responsible academic, focus on boosting the performance of certain groups, such as English-language learners,special education, poor and minority children. States did not have to comply with the new requirements, but if they didn’t, they risked losing federal money.

    United States Lifts Ban from Libya
    The Bush administration lifted the 23-year-old ban on travel to Libya a day after Tripoli reaffirmed its responsibility for the 1988 Pan Am 103 terrorist bombing. The Prime minster said that it was not their responsibility, which cause the United States to delay the lifting of the ban. A few days latter the Libyan government gave a statement taking full responsibility and action. In addition, the Libyan government paid 2.7 billion in compensation.

    President George W. Bush defeated Democratic Party candidate John Kerry. Bush had 286 electoral votes, while Kerry had 251. Foreign policy was the dominant theme during this particular election, particularly Bush's conduct of the War on Terrorism and the 2003 invasion of Iraq helped.The were some concern that the voting in Ohio did not proceed fairly and that the Democratic ticket might have won that state and therefore the election,

    Hurricane Katrina & Government Response
    Hurricane Katrina was devestaining, and many thing could be said wrong about the government about the response from the hurricane. Firefighters had to go through sit through two days of presentation about FEMA and sexual harassment. There was no issue of evacuation, until 24 hours of the storm, Amtrak was running trains out, and the state declined, and the train had no passengers, and the Stafford Act was waived.

    My first day of school was at Copper Beach. I was in Ms. Goldstein class and she was a nice teacher. I remember in my class when my teacher made us count the fake money and the first one who got the correct amount would get an actually dollar. When I got the correct amount and I got the dollar. I started loving math from then and i made a lot of friends.

    Joining Travel Soccer
    When I turned nine, I decide I wanted to play travel soccer instead of intramural. I tried out for Hunter Soccer Club along with many other girls, and made friends with most of them. I had the most embarrassing experience of falling over on a turn while running, which made me for sure think that i wasn't going to make the team. A few day later, I got a call, and the confirmed that i would be joining the "A" team. I was so proud and excited, and made many friends from the team

    Passage of the Affordable Care Act
    The passage of the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare took two years after his first election. In his first State of the Union Address, he state that he wanted protect Americans from the insurance industry. The plan passed in the House of Representatives in a 219- 212 vote, in which all Republicans voted against.     Breaking My Arm
    When I was nine in fourth grade, I was on the monkey bars early in the morning. I fell off them, and my friend Sophie saw me do it. She brought me to the nurse, and the nurse told me I had sprained it. . After x-rays were done, it showed that i had broken two bones in my arm, and that one of them slid into the growth plate. They decided on a cast, and said if i was older I would have need surgery. I had to have the cast all Christmas, and I also continued to do gymnastics & soccer with the cast.

    Gymnastics
    I start gymnastics around the age of four, but i realized some important things around the age of 10. I did gymnastics with my best friend, Alayna, and we had so much fun, but i also had soccer going on at the same time. I learn that i had to balance the two sports, and school. I wanted to commit to both sports, and i started to learn time management as i kept doing the sport. It was a good life skill to learn, and i still appreciate the experience i got from gymnastics

    The discriminatory Don't Ask Don't Tell was a ban against gay and lesbian service members, and was in effect for 17 years. Gay and lesbian service members previously discharged can re-enlist, can serve and not have to compromise who they are be able to join openly, and people currently serving will have the freedom to come out. Service members have been preparation for the end of the policy, which officially ended in 2011.

    Snowden Leaked Information
    Snowden documents contained serious information, we have learned about a variety of NSA programs, including PRISM, a program that mines the data of suspected terrorists, as well as that of anyone even marginally associated with them. His document describe about the us spying on their citizen, the NSA can collect emails, contracts, phone conversations, and collects stored data. Companies such as google and yahoo were included in the hack.

  • Government Shutdown

    Government Shutdown
    The shutdown was over Obamacare, after much discussion, the House voted on a new bill to end the shutdown and extend the debt limit. The deal reopened government while requiring that Congress pay more for its own health insurance. Democrats refused to pass a bill with such concessions, and the more conservative wing of the GOP rejected the proposal. After discussing, the bill was finally singed in.

  • Becoming A CIT at camp

    Becoming A CIT at camp
    I have been going to South Hampton Summer Day camp for 11 year now, but 2014 was the year i became a CIT, or a consular in training. That mean instead of being a camper and being watched by the consulars, we would get to watch over the campers. It made us become more responsible, and learn how to watch over the campers. I became more mature and got to learn how to balance responsibility and fun from the camp. We also got to hang out and go on trips, which is what the picture is from.

    Joiner High Band is something that i was very thankful for joining in 7th grade. I had enjoyed playing my music, and making some many best friends along the way, that i know i would never have made if i hadn't ben in band. I meet my best friend Jules, who sat next to me since we both played clarinet. We had some much fun, by doing things such as, "accidentally" flinging a pencil across the room, or trying to make each other laugh will playing our instruments.

    On December 17 2014, Obama and Castro announced that the United States and Cuba would restore full diplomatic ties. United States agreed to further ease restrictions on remittances, travel, and banking, released Cuban prisoners, and Cuba release American 53 prisoners. In July the countries opened up the embassies to each other, which restored all diplomatic relations. President Obama visited and talk with Castro about the embargo.

    In the Supreme Court ruling of same-sex marriage, in a 5 to 4 vote, the court ruled that states cannot ban same-sex marriage. Married couples will have the same legal and married rights as a heterosexual couple nation wide, and will be recognized on official documents such as birth and death certificates.   • Soccer Camp

    Soccer Camp
    Soccer camp one of my favorite soccer memories, and it was also a team bonding experience. We all had our own dorms, but also got to group with a friend. We learned new tricks on the field, and I got to learn about other stuff than soccer about my teammates. We went to each others rooms at night, and tried to avoid the nuns ( it was at a catholic college). We went swimming and broke the lines, and those new adventures were something i wouldn't have thought to done with my teammates.

    EPA and Obama announce the Clean Power Plan to help reduce the amount of carbon pollution from power plants. The plan is designed to strengthen to clean and low polluting energy sources. The goal is to cut the carbon that is driving climate change. The plan provides national consistency, and to help show the United States is committed to address the concern of climate change, and help to reduce the carbon pollution.

  • Kids Soccer

    Kids Soccer
    My brother and I volunteered at Hunter Soccer Club, to have a team of kids, and coach them soccer. We would go out every Tuesday and Thursday playing games and teaching them the basic skills of how to play soccer. We both had a lot of fun coaching, even though we had only won one game, but that was an achievement for ourselves and the team. Each Saturday morning we would get to see how the kids put what we taught in soccer into the game that they were playing. My brother is in the picture down

    Each party has come up with there own solutions to the gun control, and how it should be handled, but cannot agree and pass a vote. They rejected a more extensive background check to buy a gun, such as mental illness,and alert law enforce of people on the terror watchlist who buy guns.   • Soccer Tournament

    Soccer Tournament
    After joining hunter and playing through the years, our coach was friendly with Cheltenham's coach, and they both wanted to be more competitive. Which in turned formed, Future Player Academy, or FPA. Our first tournament all together was tough, but we stuck through it. We had lost our first game 2-1, then won both of are next two games. The finally game was against the first team we lost to, and we won 2-0. We are so proud of ourselves and are still continuing to win more tournaments.
