    The number of factories doubled in Russia but they were still not caught up to the rest of the world. With It happening so fast It brought many concerns for the people. The many factories brought many different revolutionary movements to grow and they split into certain groups.

    Russian Marxists split into two groups because they had different views on revolutionary tactics. The Mensheviks were supportive of a broad based revolution but they were also the minority. Lenin became the leader of the Bolsheviks because he was ruthless.

    Russia and Japan both wanted control of Korea and Manchuria. They signed agreements but Russia broke them. Japan then attacked leading to a Russian lost that caused revolt in the middle of the war

    Workers and families came to Winter palace with a petition stating the change they want. Generals told soldiers to shoot into the crowd and hundreds of people were killed. It led to strikes and violence and Nicholas II created Russia's first parliment.

    When they entered they didn't have the money or the military. Germans killed more than four million Russian troops in the first year. It showed the weakness of their leadership.

    200,000 workers swarmed the streets to protest for bread and fuel. The soldiers first shot into the crowd but then sided with them. Nicholas II had to leave the throne and then a year later his family was executed by revolutionaries.

    Lenin returns to Russia
    After many years of exile they let Lenin go back to Russia. Despite having concerns on what he could do they brought him back in a sealed railcar. This led to his return with the bolsheviks and gained control of the Petrograd soviet.

    The revolution was led by the Bolsheviks, who used their influence in the Petrograd Soviet to organize the armed forces. The Military Revolutionary Committee began the occupation of government buildings. The Bolshevik party seized power in Russia, inaugurating the Soviet regime.

    Lenin signed truce with Germany to stop fighting and start peace talks. In return Russia gave up a lot of its territory. This caused anger among many Russian which got so bad that It turned into a civil war.

    The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk was a peace treaty signed on March 3, 1918, at Brest-Litovsk between the Russian SFSR and the Central Powers. Because they had to give so many things up Russia did not want to side the treaty. It marked Russia's exit from World War I
