    Nobles and officers try to overthrow government (Nicholas the First). The plan failed due to poor organizaton and lack of support. This was significant to the Russian Revolution becasue the government lost loyalty of the people and distrust in the government started.

  • Nicholas II becomes czar of Russia

    Nicholas II becomes czar of Russia
    Nicholas the Second was czar from 1894-1917. He became czar after Alexander the Third had died. Nicholas the Second did not recieve the best reputation as czar and many people lost trust in the government. Nicholas the Second was the last czar of Russia. This is crucial to the Russian Revolution because as he was czar many people turned on the government including military and the tension began to rise as they did not trust any of the government.

    The Russo-Japanese War
    Russia got into a war with Japan over the control over Manchuria, believing since they had more people but surprsingly lost. This time around Japan won and got control over Manchuria. Russia then recieved declined power and the people started to distrust Nicholas the Second.
  • Bloody Sunday

    Bloody Sunday
    A group of workers lead by a radical priest marched to the czar's winter palace to make their demands. One of their goals was economic equality. In response, the chief of security ordered police to fire over protesters killing and wounding hundreds of people. This is very crucial because because of this Nicholas the Second recieved the nickname "Bloody Nicholas". This is around the time when people and workers realized that the government is not there for their benefit so they starting turning.

    This was the ending of the imperial and royal ruling and the start of the formation of the Soviet Union. Russia was affected in a huge way as the communinist party had taken over Russia.

    His role as the czar was more problematic than beneficial.He caused costly wars, food became scarce and there was tons of people against the government. This lead up to the revolution because the czar is arrested and his whole family was kidnapped and killed. This was the end of the czarst rule in Russia.

    The Menshaviks and the Bolshaviks go head to head. A civil war breaks out by 1919. The civil war leaves Russia in ruins and 6 million dead. Lenin now unifies and centralizes Russia. This is the beginning of the USSR.

    The first country in the world to be based on socialism. On all levels the USSR was based on communism. This was the start of many problems in the future and many horrific events. This also lead to one of the world's most brutal leaders, Joesph Stalin.

    Vladimir Lenin was the founder of the communist party. As this party did cause amny conflicts in not only Russia but many other countries. Throuhout his life he contributed to many things such as the Bolshevik Revolution and he was also one of the heads of the Soviet Union. He also shaped the future for a future leader, Joesph Stalin.
