  • Decembrist Revolt

    In December of 1825 a group of military officials staged a revolt against Tsar Nicholas I. These rebels were liberals who felt threatened by the new ruler's conservative views. Although they were later defeated by the tsar's forces. Then as a result of this revolt, Nicholas I implemented a variety of new regulations to prevent the spread of the liberal movement in Russia.
  • Emancipation of the Serfs

    Emancipation of the Serfs
    The Emancipation of the Serfs allowed more than 23 million people to recieve their liberty. The serfs were considered peasants and no one bothered with them until the was acted, From this they also granted full rights of citizenship, the rights to marry without consent, and to own their own business and property.
  • Bloody Sunday

    Bloody Sunday
    Bloody Sunday was a name given to the day where peaceful demonstrators marched to present a petition to Tsar Nicholas II. While they were marching they were gunned down by the Imperial Guard.
  • Revolution of 1905

    The Revolution of 1905 was time in Russian history where many businesses, industries, and even the military went on strike. They were tired of the long working hours and the harsh working conditions. The railway workers even went on strike causing a hault in the Railway network.
  • Russia Enters WWI

    Russia entered WWI because their Ally, Serbia, was attacked by Austria because they thought that Serbia had something to do with the assassination of the Archduke, Russia backed Serbia and entered the war as a super power.
  • Rasputin Murdered

    Rasputin was called the "mad monk" of Russia, He claimed to have powers of healing and prediction. Tsarina Aleksandra didn't like the high position the Rasputin was in and had sent men to try and execute him. Although after many attempts Rasputin was hard to kill until one night when he didn't come back home.
  • March Revolution

    The Russian Revolution is the collective term for a series of revolutions in Russia in 1917, which destroyed the Tsarist autocracy and led to the creation of the Soviet Union. The Tsar was replaced by a provisional government in the first revolution of February 1917
  • Tsar Nicholas II Abdicates

    In 1917 the last Tsar of Russia was abdicated by the Bolshevik. Both him and his family were prisoners for the Bolshevik for awhile until the family was then sentenced to be executed. They were ordered by the Bolshevik to be executed by a firing sqaud. They were then baried and stacked upon each other.
  • Bolshevik Revolution

    The Bolshevik Revolution was a very important time for all the world. They were founded by Vladimire Lenin, and was originally was a mass organization consisting primary of workers under a dempcratic internal hierarchy . When the Bolshevik's took power they found the Soviet Union, and was the communist party of Russia.
  • Murder of the Romanovs

    The Romanovs family was killed by the Bolsheviks because the didnt believe in the way he did things, and they wanted to rule Russia. The family was put under house arrest, and was the prisoner of the Bolsheviks until the were finally sentenced to be executed. The Romanovs was killed by a firing squad and then buried. Nicholas was the last ruler to rule Russia.
  • Treaty of Versailles

    The Treaty of Versailles was one of the peace treaties near the end of WWI. This treaty also ended the state of war between Germany and the Alied foreces.
  • Lenin Dies / USSR is formed

    Vladimire Lenin was the first leader to rule the new nation known as the Soviet Communist Party. When he died of a brain hemorrhage, the power was then given to Stalin. The Soviet Union era was from 1921 to 1990 and was had a Communist governemnt. Then after 1990 is was changed to Russia.
  • Stalin Takes Power / Death of Trotsky

    Stalin took over Russia in 1924 after the death of Lenin. People thought that Trotsky would have taken power after Lenin's death because Trotsky when most likely next in line, and Lenin looked at Stalin as a person that couldn't be trusted. After Stalin gained control over Russia, Trotsky moved to mexico and was later killed by a man named Franck Johnson.
