The March Revolution
People organized strikes demanding food and fuel. Soldiers sent to stop protestors actually joined the protests. Czar Nicholas II gave up power on March 15, 1917. -
Peace with Germany
Lenin first wanted Russia out of WW1. He signed a peace treaty with Germany. Because of this Russia lost 1/3 of its population and much of its western territory. -
