    The Murder of Rasputin
    Rasputin was becoming an ever growing nuisance and annoyance for many important people. A conspiracy was made to kill him. He had cakes laced with cyanide. He survived so was shot but still survived. He was shot in the head and then sent to the bottom of a river with iron chains on him.
  • The Americans sever diplomatic ties with Germany.

    The Americans sever diplomatic ties with Germany.
    The President decided that the Germans were not particularly nice and so severed the diplomatic ties to them.
  • The February Revolution Begins

    The February Revolution Begins
    The people were fed up with Tsar Nicholas II and so decided to riot about hunger. The people had lost faith in the Tsar and they were hungry. Riots broke out across the city of Petrograd. There was much unrest and chaos.
  • The fall of Baghdad

    The fall of Baghdad
    Baghdad falls to the British after an extended two year campaign.
  • The Provisional Government are the bosses

    The Provisional Government are the bosses
    The British and the French acknowledge the fact that the Provisional Government are the rulers of Russia.
  • Nicholas abdicates

    Nicholas abdicates
    Nicholas can't take any more of the riots and abdicates to his brother who refuses the crown, ending autocracy in Russia
  • The Tsar is arrested

    The Tsar is arrested
    After his abdication the Tsar is put under house arrest. The soldiers don't treat the old leader well.
  • The April Theses

    The April Theses
    Lenin offered his Bolshevik parties ideas. The ideas of communism, peace and food for the people. Many were swayed by this idea. This would lay the foundations for the October revolution where communism would take over. PEACE BREAD LAND
  • Kornilov Affair

    Kornilov Affair
    The Provisional Government is under threat as Kornilov is marching towards them in Petrograd. They decide to arm the Bolsheviks to help them defeat this threat. It seems like a smart move but it will backfire as the Bolsheviks are thinking about using these weapons for their own revolution. Kornilov's coup will fail but the Provisional Government will soon fall to the Bolsheviks.
  • The Bolsheviks have a majority

    The Bolsheviks have a majority
    The Bolshevik party are elected with a majority.
  • The October Revolution

    The October Revolution
    The Provisional Government have failed to give the people what they want. The Bolsheviks have been armed. They are forming a red army. This is the beginning of a Communist Russia that would last until Gorbachev.
  • The Russian Civil War

    The Russian Civil War
    There is now a civil war that is raging between the Red army of the Bolsheviks and the White army of the others. This conflict will ultimately shape the course of Russian History.
  • Moscow falls

    Moscow falls
    The Bolsheviks take the city of Moscow after much bitter fighting. The Red Guard is slowly but surely taking over Russia.
