    Central Europe was the scene of the Thirty Years' War. This war took place mainly because of religious conflict. It happened in 1618 to 1648, which may also be written as the 17th century. The Thirty Years' War has a quite literal name, as it lasted for around 29 years. It has been known as one of the most cruel and longest wars in history.

    The English Bill of Rights was signed in 1689. After King James II was overthrown, they became co-rulers in England. The bill had many different purposes. For instance, it showed certain civil and constitutional rights, along with handing the Parliament more power than the monarchy.

    The War of the Austrian Succession was two wars, which lasted from 1739 to 1748. It first took place in Europe, while the other one was fought in the colonies. This was known as King George's War. Britain's oversea trade remained stagnant, while French overseas trade was skyrocketing. On opposite sides, Britain and France were both drawn into this war.

    The first time the British Parliament actually taxed American colonists was the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act took place in 1765. This act levied a tax on most, if not all documents in the colonies. This was happening because the British Empire were in severe debt from previous wars, such as the Seven Years' War. They wanted to pay back their debt, so the Stamp Act was passed.
