Battle of Neches: Day 1
Lamar announces it is time to exterminate war on the Texas Indians. Lamar's leadership refuses to recognize the earlier treaties with the Cherokees. Chief Bowl leads an evacuation as the Indians move North, they are attacked. -
Battle of Neches: Day 2
The Indians are defeated in the battle. Approximately 100 Indians die. -
France Recognizes Texas Independence
France recognizes Texas independence, and Debois de Salgny is appointed in charge of affairs to the Republic. -
Council House Fight
Starts out as a peace mission from the Indians, when they arrive in San Antonio the commissioners of Texas demand return of all the captive held by the Penatekas. -
Battle of Plum Creek
The boldest and most concentrated Indian invasion of Texas. It was a plan of retaliation from the council house fight. The Indians loose over 80 warriors in the battle that stretched for over fifteen miles. -
Santa Fe Expedition
The Santa Fe Expedition is President Mirabeau Lamar's desire to divert to Texas at least part of the trade. Texas needs the trade and the Santa Fe market offers the best opportunities. -

Sam Houston becomes president of the Texas Republic, making him the first and third president of the Republic -
Texas Archives War
On March of 1842 part of the Mexican army comes into San Antonio demanding the surrender of the town. Since Texans are not prepared to fight they withdraw. On March 10th President Houston calls an emergency session of the Texas Congress. President Houston fears they would move to Austin so he names Houston the meeting place. The people of Austin are fearful that he would move the capital to Houston. They warn any attempt to move state papers would be met with armed forces. -
Archives War
December 1842, President Houston sends a team of rangers to Austin to gather the Archives and move them to Houston. No blood is to be shed. The Austin vigilantes are unprepared and watched as the rangers load up the archives into the wagon. Before they could drive away Mrs. Angelina Eberly fired a cannon at them. -
Archives War cont.
The vigilance committee seizes a cannon and overtakes the wagons at Kenney's fort at Brushy Creek. They only shoot a few fires before the ranger gave up the archives to avoid bloodshed. The archives are returned to Austin and remained untouched until Austin became the capital again in 1844. -
Prisoners from Texas are Released
Texas prisoners are released on order from Santa Anna. -
