    Socrates thought that we can understand our behavior by consistently examining our thoughts and feelings.
    In psychology this method of learning is called introspection which means 'looking within'
    He is famous in psychology for the quote "Know thyself.
    His methods have influenced science to a point of finding a hypothesis and then eliminating those which couldnt be true.
    Today, Psychology today is still very much a null hypothosis.

    (384-322 B.C) Aristotle outline the laws of associationism; an expierience that rreminds us of a similar experience in the past (For example, Deja Vu). He contributed to psychology by writing the De Anima, Parva Naturalia (includes "On the Senses and the Sensible," "On Memory and Reminiscence," "On Sleep and Sleeplessness," and "On Dreams) He brought a new scientific approach to human behavior. He explored alot about sensation,percetion, though intelligience, motives feelings, and memory.

    Hippocrates was an ancient Greek physician of the Age of Pericles (Or classical Greece) and was named the father of medicine.He convinced people to change their belief that the gods would punish people by causing them to go mad, and replaced it with it being caused by abnormalities in the brain. It established a biological explanation for the differenced in thought and behavior.

    (1832-1920) Wilhelm Wundt and structuralism.
    Structuralism focused on discovering base elements of consciousness. He created the first psychology lab. Wundt wrote the Principles of Physiological Psychology (1874), which helped establish experimental procedures in psychological research. He believed that psychology was the science of conscious experience and that trained observers could accurately describe thoughts, feelings, and emotions through a process known as introspection.

Psychoanalysis emphasizes the imprtants of the unconscious motices and the internal mind in determining behavior. He created the "Freudian Slip" which is the slip of the tounge".

    (1918-1958) John B. Watson is a psychologist who invented the school of thought called behaviorism. Behaviorism assumes that behavior is observable and can be correlated with other observable events.Thus, there are events that precede and follow behavior. John B. Watson's theory of behaviorism contributed majorly to psychology.
