    Cuban Missile Crisis
    On this day an American plane flew over Cuba and located a Soviet military base that had nuclear weapons in it. JFK was frightened by this news and had secret meetings to not let Russia or Cuba know that they have discovered the missiles. America and the Soviet Union both decided it would be catastrophic if we went into nuclear war so we made a compromise for both's safety.

    As President Kennedy was campaigning in Texas he was assassinated in a parade. He was shot by a man named Lee Harvey Oswald. This was recorded on live television.
