    Wanting to have there own, free country, overthrow the emporer to start there free country.

  • World War I begins as Austria declares war of Serbia

    Austria declares war on Serbia because of the assasination of their prince and princess, sparking WWI.

  • U.S. Enters the war

    The US entered the war because of german submarines sinking the Lusitania, a british passenger ship carrying many american civilians.

  • Armistice signed as Allies defeat Central Powers

    The armistice was the agreement, writtin by the french, and agreed on by everyone, that ended the war.

  • Gandhi leads Indian camapaign of civil disobedience

    Ghandi, an Indian who became a lawyer in England, then moved to South Africa. Where he realized that he was being treated unfairly because of his skin color. He then went back to India and started a non-violent revolution against the british.

  • Mustafa Kemal transforms Turkey into Republic

    Mustafa Kemal, later known as Ataturk. Was a great leader of Turkey who managed to seperate church and state in a 97% muslims.

  • MaoZedong heads Long March

    The long march was actually a chase. The Chinese communists were being chased by the nationalist on a 6000 miles march. MaoZedong was the head of the communist party at the time, and he claimed that he was among his people during the march.
