    Pip meets the convit for the first time in the churchyard. This is a life changing event for him. Without the convict, Pip would never have gotten the money to go to London and become a gentlemen.

  • Going to Miss Havisham's House

    Pip goes to Miss Havisham's house for the first time and meets his true love, Estella. This is a very significant moment for him because although Estella hates him, he still loves her. This changes his life a lot because he makes a lot of different decisions because of his love towards her.

  • Meeting Mr. Jaggers

    When Pip meets Mr. Jaggers and finds out that he got money to go to London, it changes his character. He becomes more snobby to people he cares about like Biddy and Joe. The day before he leaves he realizes how mean he's been to them, however, does not do anything about it.

  • Going to London

    Pip finally goes to London to become a gentlemen. He meets Hebert Pocket there who becomes one of his best friends. This is very important because Herbert teaches him many manners and how to do common things in a proper way like eat. This causes him to be more nice as well.

  • Learning about Miss Havisham

    This is significant to Pip because as he learns about Miss Havisham's life story from Herbert, he finds out why she wanted Estella to break his heart so much. He finally understood her, why she left all her clocks twenty minutes to 9 and why she hated men.

  • Mrs. Joe's death

    After Mrs. Joe's death. Pip becomes very depressed. At this time he was also thinking about how he treated Joe and Biddy so cruelly. He apologizes to them. This shows a change in character and he becomes a betteer person. Even thinking if you were cruel showed how he had changed

  • Learning that the convict is his benefactor

    When Pip learns that the convict is his benefactor, his whole life crushes down on him. He had thought Miss Havisham was the benefactor and she wanted him to marry Estella, and this ruined his dreams. However, he becomes very close to Magwitch, and does hie best to save him.
