    The battle of Marathon
    A battle that was fought on Marathon Plain of Northeastern Attica and repulsed the first Persian invasion of Greece. Persians army attacked Greece which outnumbered the Athenians. the Ionian revolt which happen a few years before made the Persians upset with Athens. With a unique and skilled attack plan made Greece won the battle. Their plan was to first attack the center of their army since they knew it was the strongest. This picture shows the plan they used to attack the Persians.

    The battle of Thermopylae

    The battle of Thermopylae
    A battle fought on a mountain pass near the sea. The Greeks preparing for what's coming, along side with them the Spartans who came into battle with them and the Persian army having 180 000 men that sailed with 1200 ships. The Persians used a Greek traitor to send them messages about the Greeks battle strategies, which the Persians defeated the Greeks in battle. In this picture it shows the Persians wiping out Greeks entire army.

    The battle of Salamis

    The battle of Salamis
    The battle of Salamis happend a few months later after Thermopylae. The people of Athens had to be evacuated to Salamis due to the Persians who occupied the city and burned it. The meaning of this was for victory, for winning their last battle in Thermopylae. Athenians had an idea, having the knowledge to trick the Persians, they managed to make the Persians enter a narrow passage way to trap and making the Athenians attack all of their ships. This picture depicts their unique attack strategies.

    Delian League

    Delian League
    Between 150 to 330 city-states that were present in the war and would continue to fight against the struggle from the Persians. Money and ships were given from the city states who were involved to remain in the league. A league was orchestrated by Athens, which they used money for army defense and also buildings. In this picture it shows the many different states that were part of the Delian League.
