When Pip finds out his benefactor is Magwitch, his dreams come tumbling down immediately; however, it leads him to slowly learning the good in such a coarse person like the Magwitch and eventually puts him into peril as he tries to protect Magwitch. -
Pip Falls Ill
After much fiasco with helping Magwitch, Pip falls ill. This triggers Joe to come to London to take care of Pip, which in turn becomes a key turning point in Pip's view of life--he becomes infinitely more thankful of everything he has and realizes how everything he has ever wanted has been there all along.
