    Noam Chomsky and His Politics

Noam Chomsky is well known in the political world as a Libertarian Socialist which is someone who thinks society should be based on freedom and justice, but the authoritarian government should not be controlling the government. He believes corporate interests meddle in politics greatly by advertising, sponsors, and propaganda i.e. gun companies. Chomsky has had these beliefs since childhood with very little change in opinion.

  • The Linguistic Theory

Noam Chomsky proposed that language is a instinct we are born with. Meaning things like grammar and sentence structures. It was met with wide criticism until the 21st Century.
  • The Minimalist Program

Deriving from his linguistic theory, Noam Chomsky came up with this program that tries to simplify language into basic forms that all people can understand through meaning and sounds. This was also met with extreme criticism, but he continues to work on it to this day.
  • Political Papers and Opinions Largely Based on the United States

Noam Chomsky has written many papers based on ideology and power concerning the U.S. He has even written about the effects of media and state policies in government which has been a great subject of interest as of late. He states that the U.S. is no different from the British Empire during its time with India and Africa as the U.S. polices the world i.e. Vietnam, Latin America (Panama and Mexico), the Philippians, and the Middle East.
